Farmers Markets

Use our local farmer's markets.  Old Town's market operates year round on Saturday mornings.  There are seasonal (May-Oct.) farmer's markets at the Sherwood Library on Tuesday mornings and Del Ray is on Saturday.  You will then buy fresh, locally grown produce and meats.  Heavy-duty trucks used for freight transportation in the US are responsible for ~7% of all US global warming emissions, according to the Union of Concerned Scientists. But, for me, the best reward is enjoyment of the farmer's market setting.  Just a thought ~ Wendy Burns
