Special Spring Schedule for RE Classes!
As we end spring, MVUC has many special experiences for its younger members. June means the Green Hill Project; exciting outdoor workshops for elementary age students. PreK-K classes continue, and YRUU students attend the Worship Service in June…except when they have a special program. How to keep all this straight? Consult the Family Calendar, keep an eye out for the Weekly Bulletin and Announcements, or contact Ann Richards at

Teaching 2017-18?

* Grades K-1, and the curriculum Wonderful Welcome and World of Wonder, both part of the Tapestry of Faith series
* Grades 2-3 and the UU Superheroes curriculum
* Grades 4-5 and Windows and Mirrors and Love Connects Us, both Tapestry of Faith curriculum
* Grade 6 and the curriculum A Growing Year
* Grades 7-8 will be in the Coming of Age curriculum
* YRUU (High School) will be choosing a curriculum, performing social service, and planning social activities as well as their annual worship service
* Spirit Play multi-age program during first service

MVUC has the Cutest Infants and Toddlers You Can Imagine!
Come spend an hour with them one Sunday this summer. You’ll be supporting MVUC and its children, as well as giving yourself a reason to smile. The nursery is open from 10-11 every Sunday in July and August, and is staffed by a professional caregiver in addition to a volunteer.

Adult Religious EducationTED Talk
Monday, June 5, 7:30-9 p.m. Nursery
We’ll take advantage of the TED website and its focus on ideas worth spreading. We will view an engaging video and join in a discussion facilitated by Rev. Dr. Kate Walker. This Month:
The danger of a single story — Our lives, our cultures, are composed of many overlapping stories. Novelist Chimamanda Adichie tells the story of how she found her authentic cultural voice — and warns that if we hear only a single story about another person or country, we risk a critical misunderstanding.

Sitting Meditation
Sundays, 7-8:30pm, Carriage House
We practice sitting meditation and study readings from Jack Kornfeld, Thich Nhat Hanh, Sharon Salzberg, and others. The readings provide encouragement, instruction and support for those with no previous experience in Buddhist meditation. We practice for our own benefit and the benefit of others. Introductory instruction is available for newcomers. Led by Dale Peebles. You do not need to register in advance.

Contemplative Group
Sundays, 10 am, Hollin Hall Sun Porch
If you feel drawn to deepening your spiritual life through meditation, join the Contemplative Group. We come together informally for celebration, silence, and friendship. The sitting meditation begins with simple chants from different traditions. Selected readings are followed by a 20-minute period of silence, broken by song. Afterwards we have sharing and fellowship until the MVUC main service begins. Whatever your background and experience, you are welcome.
