The Adult Religious Education (“RE”) program at MVUC consists of classes intended to support and stimulate the life-long process of intellectual and spiritual growth.  Topics covered by these classes fall into three broad categories:

        Mythology – our subliminal understandings of the world, e.g., “Origin and Meaning of Ritual”;

        Theology – systematically organized views of the world, e.g., “Ancient Egyptian Religion”; and,

        Earthly Concerns – our relationship with today’s world, e.g., “Social Action as a Religious Imperative”.

Course listings are found on this page, in our monthly newsletter, The Windmill, and in flyers located on the RE table in the Commons.

In most cases, classes are conducted by volunteers such as you.  If you have an idea or  wish to lead a course or want more information, please contact our Director of Lifespan Spiritual Growth & Religious Education, Ann Richards.

Most courses are offered on a semester basis, in the Fall or Spring.  Recently offered courses include:  An American in Ethiopia, Be the Change, Buddhism, Building Your Own Theology, Islam, Taoism and the Mind of China, Talking to Kids about Race and Understanding Evolution.
