We have nursery care for infants and classes for children of all ages. In spring 2012, Religious Education classes for children, pre-kindergarten through 12th grade, are offered during the 11:15 a.m. service only. Childcare is available at 9:15. Nursery care for children ages 3 and under is available during both services. At Sunday services, we encourage children and youth to participate in the first part of the worship service. Early in the service we have "For All Ages," in which children are invited to sit up front to listen to a story related to the sermon topic. After "For All Ages, children may stay with their parents, but most go to their religious education classes and youth go to their meeting room. Teachers and greeters are present to show children and parents to the classrooms. You're welcome to accompany your child if you want to sit in and listen. We have a very active Junior High Youth group. And for older youth we have Young Religious Unitarian Universalists, a youth-run and adult-advised group active in our local church community and in the larger district-wide youth community. This group is open to high school age youth. Dress for children, except for very special occasions, is the same as for parents: whatever is comfortable. If you have questions please feel free to contact our Director of Lifespan Spiritual Growth, Meagan Henry, at 703-765-5950 x105 or dre@mvuc.org. (In spring 2012 Meagan is on sabbatical leave.)
