Sharing the Plate has been endorsed by Rev. Kate Walker and approved by the Board of Trustees as contributing to a spirit of abundance. Every week, all the money in the collection basket (except, of course, pledge payments) will be divided equally between Mount Vernon Unitarian Church and the agency designated that day. In most cases, the agency will be designated for an entire month. As in the past, a spokesperson will be invited to make a brief statement about the agency’s work. These pulpit talks will be supplemented by written information in church publications.
