As of the summer of 2021, MVUC is undertaking the work of interim ministry in preparation for its next settled minister. Interim ministry is a 2-year deliberate and intentional practice of self-examination and institutional renewal.

With guidance and support from the UUA and our Interim Minister, MVUC is conducting a search for its next settled minister with the goal of calling a new minister in the spring of 2023.

A Ministerial Search Committee was appointed by the Congregation in May 2022.

The members of the Search Committee are:

Donna Gold, ChairTom Griffin
Anthony Barkume, Vice-ChairLaura MacCleery
Oscar CastroEvan Wallach
Carolyn Evangelista

A timeline of the search is also available:

More information and updates from the search committee are available in MVUC’s email newsletters. For more information, please contact the Board, the search committee, or our Interim Minister, Rev. Christian Schmidt.

Have you been wondering why there is a tree with multi-colored leaves in our communications about the Ministerial Search? The symbol of the tree is an appropriate metaphor for this time at MVUC.   Like the beautiful trees on the grounds of our Holy Hill, we want to draw on the strongest things from our roots and history as we build vigorous branches that provide for new life, new growth.  The multicolored leaves represent the diversity that we honor and seek to embrace.
