Mount Vernon Unitarian has vibrant music programs. Our music director is Mark Zimmerman. Most groups participate in worship services, and they are also a great source of church community and fun. New members welcome!

Musical Instruments – Our Chapel has professionally designed acoustics; the piano is an 8-foot Hoffmann in excellent repair; the organ is a three-manual Johannus electronic. Other acoustic and digital pianos and music spaces are located throughout Hollin Hall and the Carriage House.

Special Groups that come together occasionally throughout the year include:

  • Windmill Jazz Collective is a jazz instrumental group that meets twice a month and plays for worship too.
  • Drum Circles gives everyone a chance to meet and make a joyful noise.
  • Liturgical Dance group gives physical expression to prayer and worship, as well as provide gentle exercise.

Concerts: Mount Vernon Unitarian Church Alexandria VA often hosts concerts or recitals by outstanding guest artists.
