ARE: Laughter Yoga
2nd Sunday Monthly, October – May, between services, 10:30 – 11:00 a.m., Hollin Hall Breakfast Porch
Clair Trivedi Brolin, Instructor
Laughter Yoga (Hasya Yoga) combines unconditional laughter with yogic breathing (Pranayama). Anyone can laugh for no reason, without relying on humor, jokes or comedy. Laughter is simulated as a body exercise in a group but with eye contact and childlike playfulness, it soon may turn into real and contagious laughter. The concept of Laughter Yoga is based on a scientific fact that the body cannot differentiate between fake and real laughter… one gets the same physiological and psychological benefits! Register in the Commons or by contacting MVUC’s Religious Education Assistant or here

You do not have to be happy to practice this joyful exercise but it can make you feel happier with practice (usually after about 15 minutes.) Everyone is welcome and anyone can do Laughter Yoga. No experience required.
