Religious Education classes for those aged 6 months to 12th grade are held on Sunday mornings.
Note: Students 2nd grade and younger must be picked up after class by a parent or guardian at 11:15 a.m. and signed out of their classrooms. For more information contact the Director of Lifespan Spiritual Growth at dlsg@mvuc.org.

What is Children’s Chapel?

This year we will begin a new program especially for our younger friends: Children’s Chapel.  Youth ages 5th grade and up will continue to join the adults in the Chapel for the first 15 minutes of the service.  Children Pre-K through 4th grade will begin Sundays in the SBA Room of the Carriage House for a short age-appropriate service before going to their classrooms for hour-long RE lessons.  The exception to this plan will be Multigenerational Sundays, when the entire congregation will be together in the Chapel for worship.  To know whether your young child should be in the Chapel or in the Fireplace room on a given Sunday, consult the Bulletin, weekly announcements, Congregational Calendar, or the Order of Service from the previous week.

Religious Education Volunteer Opportunities

We need people to set up the whiteboard and Lifespan Spiritual Growth table once a month.  Come to service 20 minutes early and prepare the Commons (it takes about 5 minutes) then put everything away afterward.  We send you easy instructions and monthly reminders.  If you are able to help with either of these things, contact dlsg@mvuc.org.

Please be sure to register your child for Religious Education at MVUC.

Sunday Morning Religious Education for Children and Youth

It’s Important to Register your Children for Sunday Morning Religious Education

Registration is a safety issue as we want to have contact information for each minor on the grounds, and we need to know who’s present in case of emergency.  In addition, we want to look forward to your child’s participation! Register here for religious education classes. For more information contact dlsg@mvuc.org.

The Nursery is Open!
Nursery care is available on Sundays during the Worship Service. Nursery care is available for children aged six months through three years. Attendees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have had a negative COVID-19 antigen test result within 72 hours of attending the nursery. Care will be provided by a professional caregiver and an assistant. Children under six months of age may attend the service or remain in the Commons with a parent.

Easy, One-off Volunteer Opportunity

We have had difficulties finding people who are able to help in the nursery this year, and decided to make it easier to volunteer.  You can now volunteer for single dates, using this link.  This requires no preparation, and there will be a childcare provider there so you will not be alone with the children.  It’s fun, easy, and they’re really cute.  If you have any questions, please contact me at dlsg@mvuc.org.  If nothing else, we still need someone for this Sunday so that would be much appreciated.

Volunteer to teach here.
