Save the date for the Capital Pride Parade June 8! Currently there are 11 UU congregations joining together to walk or participate in the parade.

The Pride parade June 8th starting at 3 pm is fast approaching!Β 

The Pride parade is June 8 starting at 3 pm – 7 pm (depending on the pace and where we are staged in line). Although participating in the parade directly may not work for everyone- there are others options for those who wish to Β celebrate and support :Β 

1. Meet at 12:00 pm June 8 to send off car pools from the MVUC parking lot heading towards Huntington metro
2. Travel to the parade and take in/share the love!Β 
3. Come to church or watch on line June 9th – Mark Z., Rev. Ian and Music/Pride Sunday: β€œLet Our Light Shine”

Please fill out the form below to let your Social Justice Team know if you’re planning to participate in the Parade or these other activities! (Then keep scrolling to order your t-shirt!)

Some details:

  • Carpooling from the MVUC parking lot to the Huntington metro is encouraged. 
  • There will be family fun – the Capital Pride Alliance is committed to providing a safe and festive space along the parade route for families and children. 
  • From 12-5pm at Stead Park  there will be games, cooking demonstrations, crafts, and a drag story hour.
  • The parade starts at 3pm and there is a designated family area for parade viewing located on P street east of 17th street NW.Β 
  • For those who have signed up there is a staging area from 11:30 -2:30 at 15th St NW. The parade route starts at 1844 14 St NW and ends at 919 Pennsylvania Ave NW.Β

You can also purchase a custom 2024 MVUC Pride t-shirt (or sweatshirt, or tote bag, or shower curtain) here! Wear the shirt to the march and to church! This shirt commemorates Pride, MVUC’s covenant and mission, and our pot of bumping potatoes! We make a great community stew! (If you missed Rev.
