We will explore the history of language (especially American English), how it has changed in response to historical events and social conditions, and how it continues to evolve. Topics will include how we make new words, how language can become a weapon, and how language changes as we interact internationally. We will look at the importance of language to us as UUs, from the songs we sing on Sunday to the ways what we say demonstrate our principles.
