Music at MVUC
Mount Vernon Unitarian has vibrant music programs. Our Director of Music is Mark Zimmerman. Most groups participate in worship services, and they are also a great source of church community and fun. New members welcome!
Opportunities to Participate

MVUC Choir
Rehearses Wednesday evenings in the Chapel, September through mid-June
If you like to sing and can carry a tune and read music, you will enjoy being part of the MVUC Choir. We sing a wide variety of music and have fun doing it. The choir provides worship music for Sunday services about three Sundays a month, plus a variety of holiday music, concerts, and parties. Talk with Director of Music Mark Zimmerman about your singing background and check us out!

Windmill Jazz Collective
Instrumentalists of all experience levels are invited to make music, jam for fun, and rehearse for occasional performances. You will have fun and, with some pieces, frustration (life’s ups and downs). Windmill Jazz Collective plays blues, jazz, show tunes, and other genres, and also read and improvise pieces.
Musical Instruments at MVUC
Our Chapel has professionally designed acoustics; the piano is an 8-foot Hoffmann in excellent repair; the organ is a three-manual Johannus electronic.
Other acoustic and digital pianos and music spaces are located throughout Hollin Hall and the Carriage House.
